SERGIO
SYNOPSIS

Sergio Vieira de Mello was a Brazilian United Nations diplomat who worked for the UN for more than 34 years, earning respect and praise around the world. Charismatic, charming and complex, De Mello was the world’s go-to guy for negotiating peace in some of the most war-torn places on the planet. Here was a man who could land in the most dangerous places, charm the worst war criminals and all the while somehow protect the lives of the many oppressed people to whom he devoted his life.

Based on Pulitzer Prize-winner Samantha Power’s groundbreaking biography, Chasing the Flame: Sergio Vieira de Mello and the Fight to Save the World, SERGIO tells the gripping story of de Mello’s most hazardous mission ever…a mission in which his own life hangs in the balance.
